Rain or Shine holds off winless Terrafirma for third straight victory

The Rain or Shine Elastopainters held off the Terrafirma Dyip, 97-82, to notch their third straight win in the 2022 PBA Philippine Cup on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Elastopainters led by as much as 30 points, 54-24, and closed the first half with a 59-33 advantage.

However, the Dyip came out strong in the third period and outscored Rain or Shine, 30-19, to end the frame at 78-63. Terrafirma cut their deficit to just 11 at the 06:27 mark of the fourth period before the E-painters regained control of the game to take their third straight win.

Rain or Shine's young guns led the squad in Saturday's win. Andrei Caracut and Anton Asistio made 14 points each, with Caracut dishing out six assists, while Leonard Santillan tallied 13 markers on top of eight boards. Shaun Ildefonso also had 10 points in the win.

Aldrech Ramos almost had a double-double as he made 21 points and nine boards in the Terrafirma loss.

Rain or Shine, which improved to 4-6, kept their playoff hopes alive ahead of their final elimination match against the Magnolia Hotshots on Wednesday. Terrafirma, winless in ten games, will try to end their conference on a high note when they play the Meralco Bolts on Thursday.
