Arellano, EAC cap Filoil campaigns with wins over Perpetual, Mapua

Arellano University and Emilio Aguinaldo College wrapped up their respective campaigns in the FilOil EcoOil 15th Preseason Cup with wins over fellow NCAA teams on Saturday.

Arellano eked out a morale-boosting 84-66 victory over short-handed University of Perpetual Help System DALTA to go 2-6 in Group A.

Although already out of contention, the Chiefs still got a solid outing from the duo of Wilmar Oftana and Cade Flores.

Oftana churned out a team-high 20 points along with four rebounds and three assists while Flores chipped in 18 markers and 12 boards.

Perpetual capped off its campaign with an identical 2-6 card.

Meanwhile, NCAA Season 98 host EAC scored an 80-63 win over Mapua University as the wards of head coach Oliver Bunyi fell short of a quarterfinals spot with an even 4-4 slate as Mapua closed out its bid winless at 0-8.

Ralph Bajon led the Generals with 20 points, three rebounds, and three assists while King Gurtiza chimed in with 15 markers.
