Converge acquires Melecio, Porter from Phoenix in trade for Adamos, Lojera

Aljun Melecio is set to reunite with his former college coach Aldin Ayo, who now calls the shots for Converge after the 23-year-old guard was traded from Phoenix Super LPG to the FiberXers alongside Kris Porter.

The trade, which was approved by the PBA on Friday, will ship Benedict Adamos and Kurt Lojera to the Fuel Masters ahead of the 2022 PBA Commissioner's Cup that kicks off on September 21.

Melecio played under Ayo in the UAAP with De La Salle University, which they steered to the championship back in Season 79.

The development served as Ayo's first major move since taking over the coaching mantle from Jeff Cariaso.

In a Facebook post, Ayo hinted at possibilities of more movements within the Converge camp in the coming days.

"Everytime you go to war you need your best soldiers. More to come," the champion coach said.
