Pogoy drops 32 as TNT routs NorthPort for first win
Roger Pogoy waxed hot from rainbow country and connected on eight of his nine 3-point attempts to lead the TNT Tropang Giga past NorthPort, 117-93, on Saturday in the 2022 PBA Commissioner's Cup at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
The win allowed them to bounce back from an opening day loss last Wednesday.
TNT took control of the game from the second period after scoring 33 points against NorthPort's 20 to get a 58-44 advantage at the end of the first half.
It was all TNT from then as it continued to dismantle NorthPort in the second half, even leading by 33 points thrice in the fourth period.
Aside from Pogoy, reinforcement Cam Oliver added 20 points on top of his 10 rebounds, while Mikey Williams finished with 19 points.
Arvin Tolentino led NorthPort with 19 points in the loss, while import Prince Ibeh posted 18 points and 12 rebounds.
TNT (1-1) will play Rain or Shine on Saturday, while NorthPort (2-2) will face Blackwater on Wednesday.
