Adamson upsets La Salle in OT; UP deals UST's sixth straight loss
Adamson University stunned De La Salle University, 86-84, in overtime to end its first round campaign in UAAP Season 85 on Saturday at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo.
Jerom Lastimosa towed the Falcons past the Green Archers and registered a career-high 29 points, along with 8 assists, 6 rebounds, and a block. Joshua Yerro, Lenda Douanga, and Cedrick Manzano chipped in 13 points each in the win which improved the San Marcelino-based squad's standings to 3-4.
Kevin Quiambao flirted with a double-double with 20 points and 9 rebounds, while Schonny Winston and Michael Phillips had 17 points each. CJ Austria tallied 16 markers in the loss which put them down to 3-4.
Meanwhile, the University of the Philippines dealt University of Santo Tomas its sixth straight loss after a 76-51 drubbing. Terrence Fortea and Zav Lucero scored in double digits with 14 and 12 points each, while UST's Adama Faye and Nic Cabañero had 15 and 14 points, respectively. The Diliman-based squad improved to 6-1 while UST ended its first round campaign at 1-6.
UAAP action will return on Sunday for the Ateneo de Manila-University of the East match and the Far Eastern University and National University faceoff.
