June Mar Fajardo, Scottie Thompson lead 20-man Gilas pool for 5th window of World Cup qualifiers

June Mar Fajardo and Scottie Thompson have been named to the 20-man pool for the fifth window of the 2023 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers this month.

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas released the initial roster on Friday night ahead of Gilas Pilipinas' game on November 10 against Jordan and November 13 against Saudi Arabia, both of which will be played away from home.

Pro players Japeth Aguilar, JP Erram, Jamie Malonzo, Chris Newsome, Calvin Oftana, Ray Parks Jr., CJ Perez, RR Pogoy, Dwight Ramos, Thirdy and Kiefer Ravena, Kai Sotto, Will Navarro, and Arvin Tolentino are likewise invited.

Amateur standouts Ange Kouame, Lebron Lopez, Kevin Quiambao, and Carl Tamayo were also called up by the federation.

The nationals have been conducting practices once a week since mid-September. They will leave on Monday night, November 7.
