Rain or Shine makes import switch, brings in Greg Smith II

Rain or Shine is bringing a new import for its ongoing stint in the 2023 PBA Governors' Cup, switching from Michael Qualls to Greg Smith II after a winless campaign so far.

The Elasto Painters announced the development on Wednesday with Smith II expected to suit up on Sunday when Rain or Shine plays the Blackwater Bossing at 4:30 p.m. at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Smith II replaced Qualls, who averaged 26.50 points, 11.50 rebounds, and 3.50 assists as Rain or Shine went 0-4 early in the tournament, falling to Meralco, TNT, Converge, and Ginebra.

Qualls dropped 23 points, five rebounds, and two assists in their 116-108 loss to Ginebra last Sunday in what turned out to be his final game in an Elaso Painters uniform.
