FEU-Diliman completes comeback vs Adamson to inch closer to UAAP high school hoops title


Far Eastern University-Diliman inched closer to UAAP high school basketball supremacy as they took down Adamson University, 85-74, on Tuesday in Game 1 of the Season 85 boys basketball finals at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.

The Baby Tamaraws were trailing 50-39 at the end of the first half before they held the Baby Falcons to just 24 points in the second half and got their first win against the San Marcelino-based squad this season.

Kirby Mongcopa posted a statline of 20 points and 20 rebounds to bring the Diliman-based squad closer to the championship, while Luke Felipe scored 14 points.

JR Pasaol and Jedric Daa made 13 points each, while Dwyne Miranda had 10 points. VJ Pre flirted with a double-double with 10 rebounds and eight points.

Carlo Bonzalida had 18 points and 13 rebounds, while Peter Rosillio and Vince Reyes tallied 19 and 15 points, respectively, in the AdU loss.

Game 2 of the Finals will be held on Friday.
