TNT ousts NorthPort, gives Phoenix the last QF ticket

The TNT Tropang Giga booted out NorthPort from quarterfinal contention after a 134-110 blowout win in the 2023 PBA Governors' Cup on Wednesday at the PhilSports Arena.

The Tropang Giga claimed the top seat after improving to 8-1 while NorthPort ended its campaign at 3-8. The Batang Pier's loss also meant that idle Phoenix Super LPG will complete the QF cast.

TNT unleashed a wild 47-point showing in the second quarter alone while limiting NorthPort to just 16 as their lead ballooned to as much as 44 late in the third period.

NorthPort answered with 41 points in the fourth quarter to cut the gap, but that wasn't enough as TNT cruised to the victory.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson dropped 31 points alongside 11 rebounds, four steals, and three assists while RR Pogoy waxed hot for 22 markers, seven boards, three dimes, and two swats.

Calvin Oftana provided the spark from off the bench with 16 points, eight rebounds, and four assists as TNT booked its seventh straight victory.

Kevin Murphy paced Northport with 35 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and a steal while Arvin Tolentino and Robert Bolick came off the bench with 19 and 14 markers apiece.
