SJ Moore stands out as Team Hustle trumps Team Heart in NBTC All-Star

Arellano University standout SJ Moore as his squad Team Hustle trumped Team Heart, 108-91, in the 2023 NBTC All-Star Game on Sunday at the Mall of Asia arena.

Moore tallied 19 points in the win as Cholo Villanueva steered a squad that has the likes of other basketball standouts such as NCAA Season 98 juniors basketball Finals MVP Andy Gemao and De La Salle Zobel's Kieffer Alas.

San Beda standout Chris Hubilla had a team-high 27 points for Team Heart.

Moore relished the experience of playing along with some of the country's best high school players.

"For me, it was about being the top player among the 24 best," said Moore, who was ranked 15th in the 2023 NBTC 24. "Especially, getting a chance to play with all the best NCAA juniors (players), I'm lucky to be chosen to be the best player."

Villanueva also praised Moore who he described as a "very exciting player."

"If a college team is looking for a guy who could be in the rotation right away, is college-ready, SJ is one of the top prospects schools should be looking at," said Villanueva.

Earlier, Batang Tiaong's John Rex Villanueva dominated the Three-Point shootout with 15 triples, while Winnipeg's Lawrence dela Cruz won the Slam Dunk contest. Ateneo's Kristian Porter, meanwhile, ruled the Skills Challenge.
