Rhenz Abando, Anyang fall to Seoul SK in KBL finals opener


Rhenz Abando and his Anyang KGC fell to Seoul SK Knights in Game 1 of their  best-of-seven finals series in the 2023 Korean Basketball League (KBL) with a 77-69 loss at home at the Anyang Indoor Gymnasium.

Anyang, the top seed after the regular season, will fall 0-1 in the series against the Knights who are eyeing to bag their second straight title.

Abando was limited to just four points in almost 21 minutes of action while also chipping in two rebounds and one assist. Omari Spellman paced Anyang with a team-high 24 markers, 11 boards, and two dimes while Oh Se-geun chimed in with 21 points.

Anyang will look to even the series while Seoul will gun for a 2-0 lead come Game Two on Thursday at the same venue.
