PBA slaps fines on Jio Jalalon, Beau Belga, JR Quiñahan, Arwind Santos, 6 others for 'ligang labas' stints

The Philippine Basketball Association on Wednesday slapped fines on ten players for playing in unsanctioned leagues.

The Magnolia Hotshots' Jio Jalalon got the biggest penalty with P100,000 as the league said this was his second offense. He has already been fined and suspended by his mother club.

Meanwhile, Rain or Shine's Beau Belga and NLEX's JR Quiñahan, who were with Jalalon in the brawl-marred game in Catmon, Cebu, were slapped with fines of P50,000 each with P20,000 on top of the said fines for their involvement in the fight.

Rey Nambatac (ROS), Jhonard Clarito (ROS), Vic Manuel (SMB), Allyn Bulanadi (SMB), Alec Stockton (Converge), Barkley Ebona (Converge) and Arwind Santos (NorthPort) were also slapped with fines amounting to P50,000 apiece.

Belga and Nambatac have earlier been sanctioned by the Elastopainters.

The league said PBA commissioner Willie Marcial talked to the players, except for Nambatac and Santos who were having family obligations and had already talked to Marcial over the phone.
