Magnolia opened its campaign in the preseason tournament with a 34-point win against Blackwater Bossing, 117-83.
The Hotshots relied on a strong first half as it limited Blackwater to just 30 points against their 68-point output in the first 24 minutes of action.
Abu Tratter had 14 points in his Magnolia debut, on top of seven points and three assists, while Mark Barroca and Jerrick Ahanmisi also chipped in 14 points apiece. James Laput posted 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Aris Dionisio also added 12 points in the Magnolia win.
James Sena listed 11 points while Rashawn Mccarthy and RK Ilagan had 10 points each in Blackwater's second loss.

Muyang had 13 points and 12 boards, while Soyud tallied 25 points and 13 rebounds for Phoenix. RR Garcia had 15 points in the victory.
This spoiled Anjo Caram's 24-point explosion for the Bolts. Bong Quinto tallied 10 points and 11 assists, while Norbert Torres made 11 points and nine rebounds. Cliff Hodge added 12 points in Meralco's first loss in the tournament.
