SMB spoils Ginebra debut in PBA On Tour; Meralco beats Converge
The San Miguel Beermen spoiled the debut of Barangay Ginebra in the PBA On Tour, 90-78, on Sunday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
The Beermen relied on a strong start as it ended the first period at 23-13, and ended the first half at 45-27. San Miguel led by as many as 24 points, 79-55, early in the fourth quarter before taking their second win in three games.
Terrence Romeo tallied 21 points for SMB while Jericho Cruz had 18 points. CJ Perez added 15 points and Rodney Brondial chipped in with 12 points and 16 boards.
Aljon Mariano had 17 points while Raymond Aguilar posted 14 points and nine boards for Ginebra. Kim Aurin, Ginebra's 3x3 player, had an impressive performance with 18 points.
Meanwhile, the Meralco Bolts notched their second win at the expense of the Converge FiberXers, 96-88.
Allein Maliksi had 16 points, while Cliff Hodge had 14 points and 10 rebounds. Raymond Almazan also posted a double-double with 11 points and 14 boards.
The win, which improved the Bolts' record to 2-1, spoiled Jeron Teng's 21 points and Justin Arana's 12 points and 15 rebounds for Converge.
PBA On Tour will return on Wednesday with TNT facing Terrafirma and SMB facing Rain or Shine at the Ynares Arena in Pasig.
