Rain or Shine survives San Miguel rally, stays unbeaten in PBA On Tour

Rain or Shine preserved its immaculate slate as it averted collapse against San Miguel, 100-98, in the PBA On Tour on Wednesday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The Elasto Painters led by as much as 24 points late in the second period when Anton Asistio pulled the trigger to bury a three-pointer, 56-32, before they ended the first half with a 60-40 cushion.

But the Beermen staged a fightback in the second half, highlighted by a 30-point rampage in the third quarter, which ended with them trailing by just a single digit, 70-79.

Allyn Bulanadi sank a crucial trey that sent San Miguel to a 100-98 deficit in the final 38 seconds. Gabe Norwood then came up with a pivotal defensive stop as he denied a potential game-tying bucket from Terrence Romeo with six seconds left to play to seal the win.

Jhonard Clarito led the way with 17 points while Santi Santillan and Gian Mamuyac chimed in with 12 and 14 markers apiece as Rain or Shine cruised to a 3-0 start.

San Miguel, on the other hand, dropped to an even 2-2 card.
