Magnolia remains undefeated at TNT's expense; Tiongson drops 37 to tow Terrafirma past NLEX

The Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok remained undefeated in the PBA On Tour preseason tournament at the expense of the TNT Tropang Giga, 96-63, on Friday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The Hotshots relied on a strong second quarter performance as they outscored TNT, 28-13, to end the first half at 43-31. Magnolia never looked back and limited TNT to 11 points against its 31-point surge in the final frame to take the win.

Rome dela Rosa topped the Hotshots in scoring with 19 points, while James Laput registered 11 points and 13 rebounds in Magnolia's fifth win.

The win spoiled Glenn Khobuntin's 23-point performance for TNT which remained winless in three games.

Earlier, Juami Tiongson dropped 37 points to tow the Terrafirma Dyip past the NLEX Road Warriors, 110-97.

Tiongson waxed hot from beyond the arc as he drilled seven triples for Terrafirma's second win in five games. NLEX, meanwhile, went down to 1-4 in the standings.

PBA On Tour will return to action on Saturday afternoon as the NorthPort Batang Pier face Barangay Ginebra San Miguel at the Batangas City Coliseum.
