Gilas Pilipinas downs Senegal in China pocket tourney rematch

After falling to Senegal last Friday, Gilas Pilipinas on Sunday got the win, 75-63, in their rematch in the 2023 Heyuan WUS International Basketball Tournament in China.
The nationals were leading 65-56 with less than five minutes in the final frame before the margin extended anew to 10, 70-60, after a triple from AJ Edu with a minute and a half left.
Senegal answered with another triple but Kiefer Ravena connected from beyond the arc with 1:05 left, then Dwight Ramos sealed the deal with his freebies.
CJ Perez posted 14 points, while Ramos had 12 points in the win. Edu added 13 markers, while June Mar Fajardo chipped in 11 points for the national squad. Ray Parks had a total of eight points, all of which came from his fourth quarter performance.
The Philippines improved to 2-1 in the standings of the pocket tournament before it wraps its campaign on Monday against Iran.
