Ateneo falls to Radford University to finish fourth in WUBS
Ateneo de Manila University fell to the United States' Radford University, 77-68, in the battle for bronze on the final day of the World University Basketball Series on Sunday in Japan.
Radford had the upper hand early in the game as it ended the first quarter with a 10-point advantage, 26-16, before eventually ending the first half in their favor at 45-31.
The Blue Eagles trailed by as many as 21 points, 57-36, with less than four minutes left in the third period before a late Ateneo rally capped by Mason Amos' triple cut down their deficit to single digits, 64-57, at the 7:50 mark of the fourth quarter.
