Lithuania dominates Montenegro to take top spot in Group D

Lithuania dominated Montenegro, 91-71, to take the top spot in Group D of the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

Prior to their face-off, the two teams had already booked their slots to the second round as both teams already had two wins.

Rokas Jokubaitis posted 19 points, while Mindaugas Kuzminskas chipped in 15 points for Lithuania. Jonas Valanciunas had 11 points and eight rebounds.

Nikola Vucevic paced the Montenegrins with 19 points, while Marko Simonovic and Kendrick Perry had 13 points apiece.

They will face the United States and the team with the second-best finish in Group C for their second round games.

The second round starts on Friday.
