NU escapes La Salle in OT; Adamson spoils Remogat's career game for UE

Jake Figueroa NU Bulldogs UAAP Season 86

National University survived De La Salle University in overtime, 80-77, on Sunday in UAAP Season 86 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Jake Figueroa registered a double-double in the OT win with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Jolo Manansala chipped in 13 points as the Bulldogs improved to 4-1.

Kevin Quiambao, meanwhile, had a game-high 25 points on top of nine boards as La Salle slid to 3-2.

Meanwhile, Adamson University made a late rally to take down the University of the East, 72-65.

After Rey Remogat's free throw tied the game at 63, Adamson made a 5-0 run to put them at 68-63. A triple from Matthew Montebon gave the Soaring Falcons a 71-63 advantage before eventually taking the win.

Montebon and Ced Manzano paced the San Marcelino-based squad with 13 points apiece, while Matt Erolon had 10 points as Adamson improved to 3-2.

Remogat had a career game with 27 points and 11 boards for the Red Warriors which dropped to 2-3.

UAAP action will be back on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena with De La Salle University and University of the Philippines headlining the quadruple header at 6 pm.
