NLEX has parted ways with reinforcement Thomas Robinson after the latter took an "unplanned vacation" amidst the Road Warriors' campaign in the 2023 PBA Commissioner's Cup.

With the development, NLEX has tapped the services of Stokley Chaffee Jr., who is tipped to debut on Friday when they take on the undefeated Magnolia Hotshots at the PhilSports Arena.

"Thomas Robinson's departure from the NLEX Road Warriors was a difficult but necessary decision. We value discipline, commitment, and teamwork, and unfortunately, his taking an unplanned vacation and skipping team practices, compromised these principles,” said Larry Fonacier, NLEX Road Warriors team manager.

"The team's success depends on a collective effort and a shared commitment, and we will continue to uphold these standards as we forge ahead in the season."

The 26-year-old Chaffee previously suited up for Omonia Nicosia in Cyprus from 2019 to 2021 and with Kobrat from 2021 to 2022 in Finland.

"I’m really happy and excited. It's something new for me. I wouldn’t say it's pressure, but rather high expectations. There are expectations from me not only on the court but also off the court, and, obviously, to win. I hope I can meet those expectations," Chaffee said.

Chaffee will be an added boost to the Frankie Lim-mentored squad that currently features an even 2-2 card in the import-reinforced conference.

He will take over the spot of Robinson who was nothing short of impressive in four games played with NLEX, averaging 34.50 points, 13.25 rebounds, 3.50 assists, 1.75 blocks, and 1.75 steals.
