HS standout Kristian Porter, AJ Edu's bro Femi commit to Ateneo
High school standout Kristian Porter and big man AJ Edu's brother Femi have both committed to play for Ateneo de Manila University.
Standing at 6-foot-5, the 18-year old Kristian is also the brother of former Blue Eagle Kris.
Femi, also 18, stands at 6-foot-4.
Kristian is a product of the Ateneo Blue Eaglets program and is a two-time UAAP High School basketball Mythical Team member.
"Throughout my entire school life, I've been an Atenean. From Ateneo de Cebu to Ateneo de Manila, so you could say I bleed blue. Continuing this tradition into my college years brings me immense joy,” said Kristian.
In Season 86, Kristian posted averages of 18.08 points, 15.46 rebounds, and 2.23 steals per game.
Kristian was also part of the Gilas Youth team which competed in the 2022 FIBA U18 Asian Championship in Iran where he averaged 3.2 rebounds and 1.8 points per game as the Philippines finished sixth.
He will join former Gilas teammates Mason Amos, Kobe Demisana, and Lebron Nieto in the Katipunan-based squad, along with former Magis Eagles teammates Jared Bahay, Michael Asoro, and Raffy Celis.
Femi, meanwhile, is expected to arrive in the country late June after finishing high school in Copleston High School in Ipswich, England.
“I've heard many positive things about the school, both academically and otherwise. I simply want to be a part of that,” said Femi.
Both players will be eligible to play come Season 87.
