PBA: Rookie Caelan Tiongson signs three-year deal with Rain or Shine
Incoming rookie Caelan Tiongson has agreed to ink a three-year pact with Rain or Shine ahead of his PBA debut in Season 49.
The Elasto Painters announced the development on Sunday with head coach Yeng Guiao and assistant deputy Caloy Garcia among those present to witness the contract signing.
Tiongson was Rain or Shine's highest pick during the recent Rookie Draft, as the Filipino-American wingman was selected at seventh overall.
Tiongson, 32, is coming off a championship run with Strong Group Athletics in the 2024 William Jones Cup in Taiwan, where the Philippine squad swept the tournament to bring home the title.
Tiongson was the third rookie inked by Rain or Shine after Felix Lemetti and Francis Escandor, who was given three-year and one-year deals, respectively.
Rain or Shine is looking to inject more youth in its core that already features promising young cagers like Andrei Caracut, Shaun Ildefonso, Anton Asistio, Gian Mamuyac, and Rence Nocum.
