Jack Animam returns to Europe, signs with Romanian club

Gilas Pilipinas Women stalwart Jack Animam is making a European comeback, inking a one-year contract with FCC UAV Arad as the Filipina baller brings her act to the Liga Nationala, a top tier league in the country.

The team announced Animam's signing on Tuesday night with the 6-foot-5 bruiser suiting up for her sixth international club since 2021.

"Our club and player Jack Danielle Animam have reached an agreement to collaborate in the 2024-2025 season," the team said in a post.

Animam, a key figure in the national team under head coach Patrick Aquino, is coming off a brief stint with Australian NBL1 team Ringwood Hawks.

Before that, the former National University standout also reinforced Radnicki Kragujevac in Serbia for her first-ever overseas stint back in August 2021 before she made a leap and saw action for Toulouse Metropole Basket and USO Mondeville Basket in France and Wuhan Shengfan in China.

Recently, Animam powered Gilas Pilipinas in the pre-qualifying tournament of the FIBA Women's World Cup in Rwanda, where she averaged 13.0 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks.
