Kevin Quiambao to join KBL’s Goyang Sono Skygunners

Kevin Quiambao is headed to the Korean Basketball League (KBL).

A day after his team De La Salle University fell to University of the Philippines, 66-62, in Game 3 of the UAAP men's basketball finals, Quiambao announced his next step, which is to join the Goyang Sono Skygunners in Korea.

In a post on social media, KQ thanked his coaches, teammates, and the Lasallian Community for his time with the Green Archers.

“To my Teammates and  the whole coaching staff and management, I can't thank you enough for unwavering support. Thank you for believing in me and pushing me to reach my potential. I am so grateful and blessed to have you guys,” he said.

He also said that his stint in Korea will be the part of his pursuit of the goal of making it to the NBA.

“With that being said, My college career comes to an end, i will Pursue my NBA dream and start my journey by playing professional ball in Goyang Sono SkyGunners and developing my game even more.”

Quiambao is a two-time UAAP MVP, winning the league's top individual award in Season 86 and 87. He also led the Green Archers to the UAAP Season 86 championship last year.

In Korea, he will join fellow Filipinos like Carl Tamayo, SJ Belangel, Ethan Alvano, brothers Juan and Javi Gomez de Liaño, Migs Oczon, Justin Gutang, and Calvin Epistola as Asian imports.
