SGA-LGR completes tournament sweep of Milcu U16 Talent ID tilt

SGA-LGR emerged on top of the Milcu Sports Got Skills U16 Talent Identification program after pulling off a 67-56 victory over Muntinlupa in their finals duel on Friday at Greenhills West, San Juan.

LJ Pascual led the offensive attack with 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field while also grabbing eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals while Neil Garcia and Carl Delos Reyes chipped in 10 markers apiece.

The win sealed SGA-LGR's unscathed run, going undefeated throughout the tournament as it went 3-0 in the elimination round before taking down Cavite and Safestep in quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively.

Down 41-39 late in the third, SGA turned to Pascual as the 6-foot-1 scored five quick points to spark the breakaway for the squad, 46-41. They ended the frame holding on to a slim 48-43 cushion.

That proved to be the game changer for SGA as Pascual further punished Muntinlupa, completing a layup off his own steal before burying a three-pointer that made it a much comfortable 59-47 lead with 5:15 to go.

The loss, however, spoiled the 27-point outing of Andwele Cabañero, who also had 10 rebounds, three steals, and one assist as Muntinlupa settled for a runner-up finish.
