Davao City's Toyomoto rules NBTC Mindanao Regionals

Davao City's Toyomoto Auto Supply once again ruled the NBTC Mindanao Regional Championship after defeating Notre Dame of Midsayap, 84-63, on Sunday at the Oroquieta City Bayfront Arena in Misamis Occidental.

Karl Caezar Estomo led Toyomoto's strong start as the Davao City-based squad had a 21-10 first quarter. He waxed hot as he made five out of nine triples en route to 32 points, while also grabbing 10 rebounds and two steals to be named as the region's Most Outstanding Player. Andrei Cabagtong added 12 points, six assists, and five rebounds, while John Michael Quiamco had nine points, five rebounds, and five assists.

Mythical Team member Kurt John Bustamante had 16 points, three rebounds, and three assists for Notre Dame who will also head to Manila for the National Finals.

Toyland Bistro and AGCCI, meanwhile, punched the last two Mindanao tickets through the Regional Wildcard.

The NBTC National Finals is set for March at the Mall of Asia Arena.
