James Payosing leaves San Beda, moves to UP
James Payosing is leaving San Beda University and is taking his talents to the University of the Philippines.
Red Lions head coach Yuri Escueta confirmed the development to GMA News Online on Thursday.
Payosing, the Finals MVP of NCAA Season 99, played for the Red Lions for three seasons.
UP's Office for Athletics and Sports Development, in a press release, said Payosing will have one year of residency before suiting up for UAAP Season 89.
"Si James 'yung isa sa mga magme-make sure na magko-continue lang 'yung laban natin even 'pag tapos na yung mga champions natin ngayon. We are very excited to have him," said UP head coach Goldwin Monteverde.
In the NCAA Season 99 finals, Payosing averaged 9.7 points and 12.7 rebounds in three-game series against Mapua University.
In Season 100, Payosing had averages of 7.32 points, 5.32 rebounds, and 1.58 assists in 19 games.
