PBA 50 Greatest Players induction and 50th anniversary celebration

The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) celebrated its 50th anniversary on Friday in a grand ceremony at the Solaire Resort North in Quezon City where players from the past and present, and the league's partners gathered to recognize the history of Asia's first pro basketball league.

The ten newest additions to the PBA Greatest Players list were also formally inducted to the elite club.

Active players June Mar Fajardo and Scottie Thompson and Blackwater coach Jeff Cariaso personally received the recognition, along with former players Nelson Asaytono, Bong Hawkins, Danny Seigle, and Manny Victorino.

Toyota coach Danny Silverio and fellow PBA Great Allan Caidic received on behalf of Abe King, while the family of Arnie Tuadles accepted the award on behalf of the late player.

Aside from the players, longtime staff of PBA teams and members of the media covering the league were also recognized.
