Nocum stars as Rain or Shine pulls away late vs Blackwater

Adrian Nocum propelled Rain or Shine past Blackwater, 120-106, on Wednesday in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.

Nocum dropped 23 points, 19 of which came from the second half, to lead the Elasto Painters in their bounce back victory after falling to Converge last week.

Rain or Shine pulled away late as the game was tied at 102 with 6:32 remaining in the fourth period. However, pulled off an 8-0 run which included two baskets from Nocum, to get a 110-102 advantage. Sedrick Barefield broke the dry spell for Blackwater but the Elasto Painters managed to make another 6-0 run capped by a Nocum basket to widen the margin for Rain or Shine with 2:09 left.

Richard Escoto cut the deficit but baskets from Caelan Tiongson and Keith Datu eventually delivered the win for Rain or Shine.

Aside from Nocum, Datu had 27 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and two blocks, while Tiongson added 14 points. Gian Mamuyac and Andrei Caracut had 11 points, respectively, as Rain or Shine improved to 3-2.

Christian David had 28 points while Barefield had 23 points as the Bossing slipped to 1-4.
