TNT dominates Terrafirma for back-to-back wins

TNT dominated Terrafirma, 110-74, to notch its second straight win in the PBA Philippine Cup on Friday at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.

The Tropang 5G relied on a strong opening frame as it outscored the Dyip, 31-18, led by the likes of Calvin Oftana, Poy Erram, and Kim Aurin who had six points each. TNT eventually claimed a 51-33 lead by halftime before they pulled away further in the second half.

TNT exploded for a 37-point romp in the third period led by Oftana who had 14 points to get an 88-52 lead by the end of the said frame before the Tropang 5G cruised to its biggest lead, 102-56, at the 6:57 mark of the fourth canto.

Despite the efforts of Mark Nonoy and Louie Sangalang who connived for 19 points against the Dyip's 22 points in the fourth period, TNT eventually notched its second victory in the conference after losing its first thee games.

Oftana had 22 points built on four triples, while Erram had 19 points. Nambatac, meanwhile, had 12 points, while Aurin added 11 points for TNT.

Sangalang and Nonoy had 16 points apiece to lead the Dyip, while Stanley Pringle and Aldrech Ramos had 12 and 10 points, respectively, as Terrafirma slipped to 1-5.
