Blackwater snaps six-game skid at Terrafirma's expense


Blackwater snapped its six-game losing skid at the expense of Terrafirma, 97-82, on Sunday in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.

After leading 35-27 early in the second quarter, Blackwater further widened the gap with a 10-0 run, seven points of which came from Christian David, to get its biggest lead. Blackwater claimed a 52-45 lead by the end of first half and continued to take control of the game to claim the win eventually.

David registered a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds, along with four assists and one steal, while Richard Escoto had 21 points and four boards. Sedrick Barefield and RK Ilagan had 12 points apiece, with the former having eight assists, while BJ Andrade had 10 points.

Louie Sangalang had 24 points, while Brent Paraiso and Stanley Pringle had 12 points. Terrence Romeo added 10 points.

Despite being out of contention, Blackwater improved to 2-8, while Terrafirma closed the conference with a 1-10 record.
