Hua Siong beats Xavier for inaugural FCAAI 40s division crown


Hua Siong College of Iloilo defeated Xavier School, 89-85, in Game 3 of the Fil-Chinese Athletic Association Inc. (FCAAI) 40s Division finals to take home the tournament's inaugural crown.

Xavier's Chris Tiu had a chance to hand the lead for Xavier in the final minute, but missed his three-point attempt. Elduardo Allado would answer back with a three of his own with 18.2 ticks left to seal the victory for Hua Siong.

Ken Bono was effective from both ends of the floor as he registered 21 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists to win the Finals MVP honors, while teammate James Yap had 19 points, 10 boards, five boards, and five assists. Rhagnee Sinco, meanwhile, erupted for 26 points, three rebounds, and two assists.

Joseph Yeo had 38 points on an 8-of-22 shooting from deep, to go with seven assists, four rebounds, and four steals for Xavier, while Tiu notched 16 points and four boards in the runner-up finish.

Hua Siong took Game 1 of the finals, 69-52, before Xavier forced a decider in Game 2, 73-69.
