Willy Wilson is new Phoenix head coach

The Phoenix Fuel Masters on Friday announced the appointment of Willy Wilson as their new head coach.

Wilson replaces Jamike Jarin, who led the team from 2023 until the recently concluded PBA Philippine Cup.

"Management believes that Coach Willy will be a good fit for the team as it continues to pursue more success in Season 50," the team said in a statement.

Jarin, meanwhile, will be designated as a team consultant.

Wilson played for Phoenix from 2016 to 2018. He then joined the Fuel Masters' coaching staff in 2020 before being tasked to take over as head coach.

Last season, the Fuel Masters failed to make the playoffs in all three conferences.
