Cone excited about possibly adding Quentin Millora-Brown to Gilas if status becomes official

While Gilas Pilipinas has not yet received official confirmation regarding Quentin Millora-Brown’s FIBA eligibility, national team head coach Tim Cone said he is looking forward to possibly including him in the lineup.

Millora-Brown's name has been floated for the national team even before the Philippines’ stint in the FIBA Asia Cup. He even played for the Macau Black Bears in a tune-up game against Gilas Pilipinas ahead of the tournament.

“Nothing official yet, but we’re certainly excited about putting him in the lineup if it does become official,” Cone said in a message to GMA News Online.

A report stated that Millora-Brown, who stands at 6-foot-10, has been classified by FIBA as a local, which would allow him to play without being considered a naturalized player.

Born in the United States, Millora-Brown is the grandson of a Filipino doctor. In 2024, he helped lead the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons to the UAAP Season 87 men’s basketball title.

GMA News Online has also reached out to Millora-Brown regarding the development.
