Geo Chiu selected by Terrafirma as top overall pick in PBA Season 50 Rookie Draft
Terrafirma Dyip selected big man Geo Chiu as the overall top pick of the PBA Season 50 Rookie Draft.
Chiu, a product of Ateneo de Manila University, was selected first out of a total of 122 hopefuls.
The 6-foot-9 big man also played for Gilas Pilipinas in the 2022 FIBA Asia Cup and the 2023 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers.
Chiu also played overseas with the Taiwan Mustangs and the Japan B.League B-2 team with the Ehime Orange Vikings.
The rest of the first round selections were: Juan Gomez de Liaño (Converge); Dalph Panopio (Blackwater); Chris Koon (NorthPort); Ljay Gonzales (NLEX); Yukien Andrada (Magnolia); Jason Brickman (Meralco); Will Gozum (Phoenix); Christopher Miller (San Miguel); Christian Manaytay (Rain or Shine); Sonny Estil (Barangay Ginebra); Jun Roque (Rain or Shine).
A total of 77 aspirants were called in the 11-round draft.
