Tab Baldwin renews contract with Ateneo for three more seasons

Tab Baldwin will continue to call the shots for the Ateneo Blue Eagles.

On Saturday, Ateneo de Manila University announced that it has signed the veteran tactician to a three-year contract extension, keeping him with the team until UAAP Season 91.

“Thank you for building such a strong program over the past years,” said university president Fr. Roberto Yap SJ, in a statement on the Ateneo website. “We are happy you are renewing with us.”

Baldwin also expressed his excitement about staying with the Katipunan-based squad.

“With you guys, I will be able to be a part of rebuilding this program — bringing glory and success back to the hill,” said the Ateneo coach.

Last season, the Blue Eagles recorded one of their most dismal performances in recent history, finishing with a 4-10 record.

Baldwin has been with Ateneo since 2016. Under his belt, the Blue Eagles won three straight championships from 2017 to 2019, and another in 2022.

As of posting, Ateneo is playing its UAAP Season 88 opener against Far Eastern University.
