Will Coach LA Tenorio play for Magnolia?

Will LA Tenorio, the new head coach of the Magnolia Hotshots, suit up and play for the team?

Well, he still could, if he wanted to.

Tenorio revealed during the PBA Media Day on Friday that he is currently listed on the team’s injury list.

“It depends on management. My rights are with Magnolia now, so I have a chance. But we’ll see,” Tenorio said, as quoted in an update on the PBA website.

The 41-year-old added that he joined the team’s practice on Friday and emphasized that he has not officially retired from playing.

“If that happens, it’s basically going to be a hard decision for me. Siyempre, magka-coach ako at the same time, naglalaro ako,” Tenorio said.

Only a few individuals in PBA history have taken on a playing coach role, including Robert Jaworski, Ramon Fernandez, Norman Black, and the late Bobby Parks.

Earlier this month, Tenorio penned a letter to fans of Barangay Ginebra, where he played for more than a decade.

Tenorio was named as head coach of Magnolia last July.
