PBA Season 50 kicks off with Manila Clasico rivalry

An epic rivalry between Barangay Ginebra and Magnolia, the 'Manila Clasico', will raise the curtains for PBA Season 50 set to open on October 5 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. 

It is a fresh start for the Hotshots, who will have a former Gin King calling the shots as LA Tenorio begins his coaching journey for Magnolia against his old squad. 

Tenorio will face his previous mentor Tim Cone as Magnolia and Ginebra slug it out at 7:30 p.m., which will follow the opening ceremonies at 4:30 p.m. 

Defending champion San Miguel, meanwhile, will kick off its title defense on October 8 against NLEX at the Ynares Antipolo while Titan, which took over the franchise of NorthPort, will start its PBA campaign against Meralco earlier in that day. 

TNT, which fell short of a grand slam bid last season, will take on Phoenix to mark a fresh start while Terrafirma and Blackwater square off on October 10 at the Ynares Montalban.
