PBA: Ginebra trades Maverick Ahanmisi, Aljon Mariano to Terrafirma

Prized guard Maverick Ahanmisi is set to join his younger brother Jerrick at Terrafirma after he was traded by Barangay Ginebra to the Dyip to end a two-year stint with the Gin Kings. 

The deal was approved on Wednesday as Ginebra shipped Ahanmisi alongside Aljon Mariano in exchange for Terrafirma's Season 51 first round draft pick. 

The 34-year-old Ahanmisi and Mariano, who have been a crucial part of Ginebra the past years, will join a youthful Terrafirma side led by Mark Nonoy, Louie Sangalang, Brent Paraiso, and rookie JM Bravo. 

The Dyip are coming off a huge 97-91 win against the NLEX Road Warriors after Bravo shone with 18 points, eight rebounds, and one assist. 

With Ahanmisi and Mariano leaving, Ginebra will look to break through in the ongoing PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup following an 80-73 opening-day loss to rival Magnolia.
