Brownlee, Kouame banner Gilas Pilipinas lineup for Bangkok SEA Games

Gilas Pilipinas' Justin Brownlee and Ange Kouame

Naturalized players Justin Brownlee and Ange Kouame will banner the Gilas Pilipinas lineup for the upcoming 2025 Southeast Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand.

Aside from the two big men, joining the national team in the biennial meet are Ray Parks, Matthew Wright, Jason Brickman, Remy Martin, Veejay Pre, Thirdy Ravena, Dave Ildefonso, and Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser.

Collegiate standouts Mike Phillips of De La Salle University and Kymani Ladi of Ateneo de Manila University are also part of the roster.

While head coach Norman Black said this is already the final lineup, he noted that adjustments could still be made if necessary.

“Say some guys, for some reason, these guys are playing right now, so we don't know what's going to happen in the next month or two. But that is the team, yes,” Black told GMA News Online on Sunday.

According to Black, restrictions caused by the ongoing seasons of different leagues, such as the PBA, UAAP, and NCAA in the Philippines, as well as the Japanese and Korean basketball leagues abroad, led him to form this particular roster.

“I just tried to choose the best players available and the ones who are willing to play,” he said, adding that these players have also received clearance from their respective clubs.

As for collegiate standouts, the UAAP previously said it ensured that players from six schools would be available for the SEA Games, as requested by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP), should the national team need players from the league.
