PBA postpones Sunday double-header due to Uwan

PBA postpones Sunday double-header due to Uwan

The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) has postponed its double-header offering on Sunday, November 9, due to the threat of Typhoon Uwan (international name: Fung-Wong) in the Philippines.

The league announced that the game between league-leading TNT and Magnolia and the clash of Barangay Ginebra and Titan Ultra will be postponed as the PBA observes safety measures amid the weather disturbance.

"In light of the incoming Super Typhoon Uwan, and with the safety of our fans, players, officials, and staff as our top priority, the PBA has decided to postpone its Sunday, November 9 games," the league said in a statement.

The double-header was originally slated to take place at the Ynares Montalban with the Tropang Giga (5-1) protecting a four-game winning streak after beating Converge, Titan Ultra, Meralco, and the lastest, Terrafirma in an overtime affair.

The Hotshots, meanwhile, are hoping to bounce back from a narrow 92-94 loss to San Miguel.

Ginebra and Titan are both coming off wins with the Gin Kings taking a dominant 104-74 victory over NLEX that ended a two-game slump while the Giant Risers are fresh off a 97-86 win against Blackwater to halt a four-game slide.

Based on the 11 a.m. bulletin by PAGASA, Metro Manila and Rizal are under Tropical Weather Cyclone Signal no. 1.
