PBA: Rain or Shine inks rookie big man Christian Manaytay to two-year deal

PBA: Chris Manaytay drafted by Rain or Shine

Rain or Shine is shoring up its frontcourt in light of Keith Datu's injury, signing rookie Christian Manaytay amid the Elasto Painters' campaign in the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup.

Rain or Shine signed the former University of Santo Tomas forward to a two-year contract, the club announced on Tuesday ahead of its crucial clash against TNT on Saturday.

Manaytay was Rain or Shine’s 10th overall pick in the Season 50 Rookie Draft, and his signing now officially brings him into the fold as the Elasto Painters look to stabilize their frontcourt rotation.

The 6-foot-5 Manaytay is tipped to fill the void left by the injured Datu.

The 6-foot-7 Datu is expected to miss the rest of the season after sustaining a right patellar tendon rupture during their 91-80 win against Phoenix last Wednesday
