Juan Gomez de Liaño added to Gilas Pilipinas pool for World Cup qualifiers

Juan Gomez de Liaño has been invited to join the Gilas Pilipinas pool ahead of the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers later this month.

National team head coach Tim Cone bared that they have reached out to the Converge rookie de Liaño as the newest pool member.

Last month, Quintin Millora-Brown and RJ Abarrientos were announced as part of the pool as well.

Cone shared that Gomez de Liaño is invited to attend practices as the nationals gear up for two qualifying games this year.

Gilas will take on Guam twice, taking on the no. 81 Guamanians on November 28 on the latter's home court before hosting them on December 1 at the Blue Eagle Gym.

Gomez de Liaño's call-up came just days after putting on a show for Converge in a 106-96 win against Cone's Barangay Ginebra in the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup.

Gomez de Liaño dazzled with a career-high 32 points that he laced with six rebounds and six assists to lift the FiberXers to a a 5-2 win-loss card.
