UAAP: Janrey Pasaol set to be UAAP Season 88 MVP

Far Eastern University star Janrey Pasaol is set to be named the Most Valuable Player of the UAAP Season 88 men’s basketball tournament.

The sophomore tallied 81.5 total statistical points (SPs) to lead the race, posting averages of 15.43 points, 4.14 rebounds, 7.5 assists, and 2.14 steals per game.

Pasaol finished ahead of De La Salle University’s Mike Phillips (80.429 SPs), University of Santo Tomas’ Collins Akowe (79.286 SPs), National University’s Jake Figueroa (77.286 SPs), and University of the East’s Precious Momowei (75.214 SPs).

The Tamaraws, however, missed the Final Four bus as they finished with a 7-7 record.

In the women’s division, National University’s Karl Ann Pingol dethroned Ateneo de Manila University’s Kacey Dela Rosa for the MVP crown.

Pingol finished with 93.571 SPs, while Dela Rosa recorded 91.429 SPs.

Meanwhile, UE’s Goodluck Okebata topped the statistical points race in the 16-under division with 96.214 SPs, followed closely by UST’s Rowie Cabañero with 95.643 SPs.
