June Mar Fajardo paid tribute to longtime Gilas Pilipinas teammate Japeth Aguilar after the latter announced his retirement from national team duties last Monday.

In a social media post, Fajardo looked back on their shared moments with the squad.

“Happy retirement, master. Isang karangalan ang makasama ka! Parang kailan lang tayo ang pinakabata sa NT—ngayon ako na ang pinakamatanda,” Fajardo wrote, adding a laughing emoji.

“Isang World Cup pa sana. Mamimiss kita, roommate! Enjoy more time with your family. See you pa rin sa court!”

"Forever grateful sa samaha at friendship naten, thank you and God bless you more master," Aguilar replied.

Aguilar was part of the first iteration of Gilas Pilipinas in 2009, while Fajardo eventually joined the squad in 2013.

Since then, the two have been part of several Gilas lineups, up until last Monday when the Philippines played Guam in the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.
