Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 Men miss SEA Games podium for the first time

The Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 men’s team missed the Southeast Asian Games podium for the first time after falling to Malaysia, 21–19, in the battle for bronze on Thursday in Thailand.

Earlier, the quartet of Ange Kouame, Joseph Eriobu, Joseph Sedurifa, and Janrey Pasaol also fell short against Singapore, 21–20, in the semifinals.

The Philippines had been a consistent medalist in the event since it was introduced in 2019. The team won gold in Manila six years ago, secured bronze in the next edition in Hanoi, and in 2023 settled for silver after falling to Cambodia, 20–15, in the finals.

It was an unfortunate ending for the Filipinos, who swept Group B with wins over Vietnam (21–15), Malaysia (21–19), and Lao PDR (21–10).
