2025 SEA Games: Gilas Women dethrone Indonesia, reach gold medal match

Gilas Pilipinas Women advanced to their fourth straight Southeast Asian Games finals in women’s basketball after dispatching Indonesia in the semifinals, 66-55, at the 2025 SEA Games on Thursday in Thailand.

After the third quarter closed with a 55-44 lead for Gilas Pilipinas, Afril Bernardino and Kacey Dela Rosa continued to step up for the Philippines, with Dela Rosa's free throws late sealing the victory despite the Indonesians cutting the deficit to as close as 63-55 prior to the final moments of the game.

The victory gives the Gilas Women a chance to reclaim the gold after falling to erstwhile defending champions Indonesia in 2023.

The Philippines will face either Thailand or Malaysia in the finals on Friday.
