PBA: TNT retires Ranidel de Ocampo’s jersey No. 33

TNT officially retired Ranidel de Ocampo’s jersey No. 33 on Friday, honoring one of the franchise’s most accomplished players.

A short ceremony was held at halftime of Game 3 of the TNT–Meralco semifinals.

De Ocampo suited up for TNT from 2008 to 2017, helping the then-Tropang Texters capture six PBA titles during his nine-year stint.

Beyond his success with TNT, De Ocampo also expressed pride in his service to the national team.

De Ocampo was drafted by Air21 in 2004 and played for the team until 2008 before joining TNT. In addition to his six championships with the Tropang Texters, he was a two-time Finals MVP and was named Best Player of the Conference in the 2014 PBA Governors’ Cup.

After his stint with TNT, De Ocampo suited up for Meralco until 2019.

He is the third TNT player to have his jersey retired, joining Jimmy Alapag and Harvey Carey.

De Ocampo currently serves as a member of TNT’s coaching staff.
