PBA: Phoenix parts ways with head coach Willy Wilson, consultant Jamike Jarin

PBA: Coach Willy Wilson of the Phoenix Fuel Masters

Phoenix is making another coaching change after letting go of Willy Wilson, who called the shots for the Fuel Masters for just one conference in the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup.

The club announced the development on Wednesday while also saying it is parting ways with team consultant Jamike Jarin as well.

"After much evaluation, the Phoenix Fuelmaster have amicably parted ways with Head Coach Willy Wilson & Team Consultant Jamike Jarin effective immediately," Phoenix said in a statement.

"We thank Coach Willy and Jamike for their hard work, commitment, & professionalism through the years, and wish them the very best in their future endeavors."

Phoenix tapped Wilson as head coach last August following their Season 49 Philippine Cup campaign, where the squad missed the playoffs after racking up four wins against seven losses.

He replaced Jarin at the helm as the latter was given a consultancy assignment.

But Wilson failed to turn Phoenix' fortunes around the following conference as the Fuel Masters struggled in the Season 50 All-Filipino edition, missing out on the playoffs once more with a 3-8 win-loss card.

Phoenix has yet to announce who will take over the coaching job.
